Microsoft preps new Xbox One designs, bundles, 1TB version

In an attempt to sell more Xbox One hardware, Microsoft Corp. readies several all-new bundles of the console for this fall. The bundles will include free games, consoles with all-new designs, a console with 1TB hard drive and other bonuses. What is noteworthy is that all new bundles will come without Kinect motion sensor, which emphasizes dropping importance of the device for the software giant.

“We are excited to offer fans more choice and value than ever before,” said Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox division at Microsoft. “These bundles offer a great opportunity to enjoy Xbox One alongside an incredible line-up of first and third party games, making Xbox the best place to play this holiday and beyond.”

There will be four exclusive Xbox One bundles available this fall.

  • The Xbox One limited edition “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare” will include an Xbox One console with exclusive design and a 1TB hard disk drive, controller, a limited edition exoskeleton and a digital copy of the “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare” video game. The bundle is available for pre-order today for $499/£429.99/€499.99 and it will ship on the third of November.
  • The Xbox One special edition “Sunset Overdrive” will come with a white console and wireless controller as well as a digital copy of the game, and special day one edition in-game items. The bundle is available for pre-order for $399/£349.99/€399.99; it will ship on the 28th of October.
  • The Xbox One Fifa15 edition will include an Xbox One console, a controller, 14 day live trial, an HDMI cable, a headset, a digital token for “Fifa 15” and an ultimate team legends gold pack. This one will be available in Europe only starting the 25th of September for £349.99/€399.99.
  • An Xbox 360 console bundle including “Fifa 15” will also be available in Europe starting the same date while stocks last.

The new bundles will bring improved storage capabilities, better designs and free games, but will not include Kinect motion sensors. This means that Microsoft will clearly remove its second-gen Kinect from the list of Xbox One’s advantages and has no plans to introduce, for example, an Xbox One bundle with a free Kinect. As a result, game developers will also cease to integrate support of Kinect into their games, which means that the accessory will simply be dropped by everyone.

KitGuru Says: The demand for new bundles will help Microsoft to learn whether gamers need 1TB of storage and a white version of the Xbox One console. The destiny of Kinect is pretty obvious.

  1. pre-order today for $499/£429.99/€499.99 and it will ship on the third of November.

excuse me if i am wrong but by being English i will be spending 130 GBP more for this console than Americans will,
    how does that work ?

  2. Phil Spencer is always “excited”. Anyway, polish a turd…

  3. Why didn’t they just have that design-ish from the starts? looks waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more attractive! Too bad microsoft is a big turnoff :/

  4. Our Lovely Government enjoys adding tax =P

  5. ..when you add American Sales tax at an average of 8%, the price gap is still WAY above what it should be. We are being ripped off and subsidising American consumers.

Anyway, as the above poster already said, it’s just polishing a turd, and it still stinks as a console.

  6. They need to drop the price by at least $50 so it can made more attractive to more people….

  7. Microsoft have already lost the console war for this gen. Sony got their act together and understood from the start the core console market. Thus why MS is desperately dropping Kinect (for more casual / family players that don’t early adopt anyway) and trying to boost the performance of the hardware (so sorry your specs are not the best). Oh and don’t mention the massive bracktrack on DRM MS were forced into because of the howls of outrage from the gaming community. I loved my 360 but PS4 is the way to go. *Until the Xbox One ‘Slim’ comes out with better internals*

  8. meanwhile average PC joe has had his 2TB + SSD running for many a happy moon

  9. its the same with everything, even PC components. Everything we ever buy here in UK has been raised massively.

The only advice I can give is next holiday, go to America with little-no baggage and buy all you can.

  10. you cant just convert dollars to pounds its not that simple there are other factors in the us taxes are added at a local level so the price you see wont include tax

  11. Autumn not Fall
