CD Projekt Red have had an interesting few years. Following the overwhelming success of The Witcher 3, the team were elevated to new heights, with their next game ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ being huge upon initial release. Of course, the less-than-stellar state of its launch did put a hamper on the studio’s optics. That said, with Cyberpunk’s 2.0 update and Phantom Liberty out, CDPR has now revealed that the studio has sold over 100 million copies across its games.
Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, the official CD Projekt Red page revealed that across The Witcher; The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings; The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077, the studio has managed to sell over 100 million copies.
Back in May of this year the team confirmed that The Witcher 3 alone had sold more than 50 million copies, and so at the very least half of CDPR’s total sales are attributed to the 2015 open world RPG.
The studio also officially confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 has sold 25 million copies since its release back in 2020 – an impressive figure considering the game’s controversial launch.
With CDPR spending the past few years trying to fix its reputation after Cyberpunk’s somewhat disastrous launch, it seems as though the studio has managed to successfully navigate these rapids, putting them back in a comfortable and positive position.
