Sony has tried to fuse its Film & TV powerhouse with the PlayStation brand a couple of times in the past to disappointing results. This time around though they may have got it right. As an add-on to PlayStation Plus Premium, subscribers will soon also get access to Sony Pictures Core, a streaming service offering a selection of 100 Sony Pictures films.
Sony Pictures Core will replace Bravia Core, which was previously available on Sony Bravia Smart TVs and select Xperia smartphones. The app includes a library of 100 movies available for immediate streaming (if you are subscribed to PS+ Premium) as well as a store containing thousands of Sony movies and TV shows.
For the launch of Sony Pictures Core, Sony is bringing the recently released Gran Turismo film to the service, as well as other movies like Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, Resident Evil Damnation and more. With Sony owning the likes of Funimation and Crunchyroll, we could potentially see some anime included in the future as well.
Sony Pictures Core will be available in 23 markets on PS4 and PS5 consoles starting today. In some parts of the world where cloud gaming is not accessible, PS+ Premium is branded as PS+ Deluxe. The Deluxe subscription also gets access to the Sony Pictures Core library.

KitGuru Says: Depending on what the selection is like, this could end up being a very cool addition for PS+ Premium subscribers.
