Intel to finally release Arc A580 GPU while Nvidia plans to introduce slower RTX 3050

A new slide has surfaced unveiling Intel’s long-forgotten Arc A580 GPU, accompanied by two custom models. Note, however, that the recently leaked slide suggests that Intel did indeed make some slight adjustments to the specifications, although these changes are relatively minor. Moreover, Nvidia plans to launch a new and slower variant of the RTX 3050 with 6GB memory, stirring things up in the entry-level gaming GPU segment.

The slide that @momomo_us shared comes after Sparkle and ASRock had their A580 models leaked online (via VideoCardz). As per the table on the slide, the A580 features 24 Xe-Cores and has a 185W TBP, which has been increased from 175W from the previously revealed 2022 specs.

The extra 10 watts of power are what Intel considered to be enough to make it compete with the RTX 3050 and AMD Radeon RX 6600. Interestingly, another graphic that displays a roadmap for all Intel Arc products seems to corroborate that just two companies, Sparkle and ASRock, are planning A580 GPUs, so don't expect an army of custom models to choose from.

As for the rumoured new variant of the RTX 3050, it's claimed to be equipped with the GA107-325 GPU, as opposed to the GA106-150 utilised in the 2022 model of this card. The different GPU would result in a boost clock speed of 1470MHz, down from 1777MHz used in the current reference models. The GPU configuration is still unknown.

Furthermore, it is expected that this card will have a 96-bit memory bus rather than the previous 128-bit design, resulting in a drop in memory bandwidth. Lastly, the memory capacity is expected to be reduced from 8GB to 6GB. The new RTX 3050 is expected to be released sometime in 2024.
