In a bid to boost popularity ot its dual-chip flagship graphics solution both among end-users and system builders, Advanced Micro Devices has announced a temporary promo action for select partners. For a limited amount of time specific companies will sell AMD Radeon R9 295X2 graphics card with a 33 per cent discount.
Starting later this week AMD Radeon R9 295X2 graphics cards with two code-named Hawaii graphics processors and 8GB of GDDR5 memory will be available for $999 in the U.S., down from $1499 originally. The Radeon R9 295X2 will ship with a bunch of free games, so customers will get the same premium graphics boards and bundles as users who bought them several month ago. Official new price-tags for Europe and the U.K. are unclear, but similar deals are expected.
The discount price of the Radeon R9 295X2 dramatically increased the value of the graphics card since it makes the adapter cheaper compared to two Radeon R9 290X graphics boards. Still, it should be kept in mind that not all PC cases and power supply units are compatible with the Radeon R9 295X2 graphics boards.
Last week it transpired that Nvidia Corp. offers discounts to PC makers who build PCs with its dual-GPU GeForce GTX Titan Z. AMD’s promotion is aimed both at end-users and boutique PC makers, hence, there is a chance to get a more affordable Radeon R9 295X2 both separately and inside a PC.
It is unclear how long will the Radeon R9 295X2 promotion is set to last.

KitGuru Says: While the demand for expensive graphics cards is relatively high these days, it looks like neither AMD nor Nvidia can sell the amount of their top-of-the-range graphics cards they originally hoped, which is why they have to make discounts now. Given the fact that $1000 price-tag is a much more realistic price-point for a graphics card than Titan Z’s $2000 – $3000, it is likely that AMD will manage to sell a lot of its dual-chip graphics solutions.
Well now that it’s cheap…
I have looked everywhere and don’t see any USA store listed it for that price
