New Lords of the Fallen gameplay footage debuted

With all of six months between today and the launch of Dark Souls II earlier this year, chances are the sadomasochist gamers out there must be champing at the bit to abuse themselves by playing something that's ungodly difficult; and has giant boss fights. Fortunately then, it looks like they won't have to wait too much longer, as Lords of the Fallen isn't too far from release and today we have 12 minutes of new footage of it in action to drool over. For those not particularly familiar with the game, this trailer actually shows quite a lot in its opening minutes. Whizzing through menus, you can see some of the weapons that can be unlocked in the game, as well as some of the spells and shortly, when the player enters combat, how they perform in battle too.

When it does come to the combat, right off of the bat it's clear the player should cakewalk through it, based around the damage he can do at this sort of level. However just a couple of hits later and he's on the ground, dead. Lords of the Fallen, like Dark Souls is unforgiving of mistakes. You'll need to dodge almost every attack in order to survive some of the harder bosses.

While not as pretty as some of the early screens we were shown, the game still looks good

We also get some insight into certain NPCs, side quests and secrets, so completionists should have plenty to do outside of the main storyline.

Lords of the Fallen is set for release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on the 28th October in the US and 31st here in the EU.

  1. hmm, played this game at game24 in london….wouldn’t compare it to dark souls 2, really not a difficult game from what we had access to, looks like a really good game though.

  2. Can’t wait to play this game, even though it’s Dark Souls wanna bee it looks good and the combat feels just right, not super hard.
