Intel delivers more impressive performance gains with new Arc graphics driver

While Intel's discrete Arc graphics cards got off to a rocky start, they have improved leaps and bounds since then through driver updates. We regularly see huge performance improvements for titles with Intel graphics driver updates and the latest is no exception, boasting big games for a range of titles, headlined by a 750 percent boost for Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

The latest Intel Graphics Driver for Arc A-series and Iris Xe graphics promises notable improvements for a range of games. With the new driver, Intel GPU users should see a 19 percent average FPS uplift in The Talos Principle 2 at 1440p with High settings, and up to a 53 percent boost in Returnal at 1080p using the Epic RT settings. A similar gain is observed for Guild Wars 2 at 1080p with Ultra settings.

Perhaps the most impressive improvement is the up to 750 percent FPS uplift for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, at 1080p using the game's ‘Enhanced' graphics settings. Intel also points to improvements in Civ 5, Total War: Warhammer, Sniper Elite 3, World War Z, Euro Truck Simulator 2, Yakuza 0, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Alien Isolation, Far Cry Primal, Far Cry 5 and Far Cry New Dawn.

The new driver also adds Game On support for The Talos Principle 2, Robocop: Rogue City, Star Ocean II R, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.

KitGuru Says: We've seen a lot of improvements on the driver side from Intel this year. Hopefully this momentum carries forward into 2024 with the company's next round of discrete graphics cards.
