DICE made a mess of the Battlefield franchise after the disastrous launch of Battlefield 4 and unfortunately for Visceral Games, this has led to concerns regarding Battlefield Hardline's launch. However, the studio is reassuring gamers that the title “will work” at launch and that it won't make the same mistakes DICE and EA made last year.
Battlefield Hardline Creative Director, Ian Milham, in an interview with Gamer Revolution said: “What you’re basically asking is, ‘Is your game going to work?’ and the answer is yes, it’s gonna work.”
The creative director then went on to remind us that Hardline has been in development for a couple of years now, before Battlefield 4 even came out:
“We actually started on this more than a year before Battlefield 4 came out. We’ve been working with the DICE guys for a long time; some of our engineering work is actually in Battlefield 4 and things they’ve been doing since then. It’s in pretty great shape now and all that work is gonna come into what we’re doing.”
The Battlefield Hardline beta was also successful, resulting in a delay of the game in order to add in the features and game modes fans requested the most.
“We already had one very successful beta, we’re going to have another beta on every platform we ship on. We take shipping a working game pretty seriously. So, yes, the game will work.”

KitGuru Say: Since the launch of Battlefield 4, EA has stated that it is changing its approach to development, its likely we will see some of these changes reflected in the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition later this year and more so in Battlefield Hardline next year. Visceral Games won't be repeating last year's mistakes, or so it seems. Did many of you guys play the Battlefield Hardline beta? Are you looking forward to it at all?
I played Hardline quite a lot and definitely looking forward to it.
meh 60 dollar dlc no thanks
Lol, there’s something wrong when the most compelling reason to buy this game is that it will work properly when released. It’s one thing for a company to say that, but it’s another thing for that to be the reason it caught my attention.
