After months of persistent rumors and just a few leaks, we've finally got our first image of the upcoming HTC made Nexus 9 tablet, which is expected to be officially announced later this month alongside a Motorola made Nexus 6 handset and the official launch of the Android L Operating System.
The leaked image was provided by @upleaks on Twitter, it shows off the back of the device with Nexus branding and a small HTC logo on the bottom. The tablet itself is very square compared to other Android offerings on the market.
HTC's upcoming Nexus 9 tablet has been codenamed the T1 throughout the creation process. On the top left we can see the rear camera alongside an LED flash, on the bottom we can see a standard micro USB port for charging and the back appears to made of a matte style, soft touch plastic.
As far as specifications go, previous leaks have suggested that the Nexus 9 will feature Nvidia's Tegra K1 processor, either 3GB or 4GB of RAM and an 8.9 Inch 2560×1600 display.

KitGuru Says: The new wave of Nexus devices are swiftly approaching and should be officially announced this month. How many of you guys own a Nexus device? Are you looking forward to a HTC made tablet?
I own a Nexus 7 2013 32GB WiFi and I love it. I love the idea of a pure Android experience.
It’s size means that it is great a being a portable device which I can play games (currently Carmageddon) and watching television series on the way to and from work on the trains.
I was also looking at getting the Nexus 10 but wanted at least a quad core so was hoping for the Nexus 10 2nd Gen, but it never materialised.
Maybe this Nexus 9 is going to be the answer…
