UK retailers are continuing to lower the price of Microsoft's Xbox One console in an effort to shift more units. The Xbox One had an official price cut a few months ago, bringing the price down to £350, matching the Playstation 4 and now UK based retailers are cutting the price down to £329, a full £100 less than Microsoft's launch price.
This does give the Xbox One a slight price advantage over the PS4 at some retailers, although as you would imagine, this price doesn't include any games or the Kinect at most stores. However, Amazon is currently selling the white Xbox One and Sunset Overdrive bundle for £329.
Microsoft hasn't made an official announcement regarding the price cut but Microsoft Studios Senior Producer, Nick Ferguson, did tweet about the new price point:
However, this tweet has since been removed, indicating that either this is in-fact an unofficial price cut or Microsoft isn't ready to announce it just yet.
The Xbox One originally launched last year for £429.99, the price was then cut to £399 just in time for the launch of Titanfall. Back in June, the Kinect was removed and the Xbox One price was once again cut to £350, allowing Microsoft to compete with the Playstation 4 at a similar price point.
GAME UK is also selling the Kinectless Xbox One for £329.99, although you're probably better off going with the Amazon deal, which includes Sunset Overdrive.

I still think that’s too much for any console.
£329 would buy you a very nice 290x, and that is in no way a difficult choice to make!
Until the consoles get around £200 there’s no value there at all, you’re simply paying a huge premium for access to a few gaming exclusives.
The issue is that we’re a technical bunch of people.
Building a PC isn’t much for us but for others out there, there is a huge invisible barrier.
You can’t deny a consoles simplicity.
I’d pick a PC any day though.
I don’t get this logic to be honest. Buying a separate component of a gaming system rather than a complete set of hardware within the same price range? This would probably benefit someone if they already have a Gaming PC to begin with. Sure I can get a 290x for 300 bucks but then again, I would have to factor several PC components if I were to build my own gaming desktop.
The logic is in what you are asked to pay, and the value you receive in return.
You don’t add the price of buying a TV to the price of an Xbox, you just assume you already have a TV. It’s the same with PC components.
At under £250 I feel a console is a decent value proposition, but at over that it just isn’t worth what it costs.
Considering the insane costs of console games, going with a PC actually saves you more in the long term.
Buy a console, get several games and you are in the decent gaming PC range, and then the fun starts, flushing down money every month to use it online, in a year time, getting a pc is cheaper.
Yes and No.
Yes, a AAA title may be 10 quid cheaper on a PC then on a console, but say you spend 300 on a console, and then for an average gaming spec PC, you’re looking at 800 or so. A lot of people i game with spend £1500 + on their PC’s.
saving a tenner per game is seriose long turm commitment.
then factore in all the other games we get on PC because of the indie scene and that eats into the savings.
Then you have the steam sales…..
I almost forgot that multiplayer on PC doesn’t require a monthly fee 😀
Btw Steam sales are a good thing, you get a full game at a fraction of the price! It’s only bad if you lack the self restraint to not buy everything that goes on sale.
The reason I don’t own a console is because of how expensive it is to game on. Don’t even get me started on the cost peripherals! All that licensing bs drives up the cost for controllers.
Getting better Microsoft. Get it down to £300 and then you’ll have something that rational people might buy. I mean, I still won’t, but some people might.
IT needs to be £349 with Kinect and a game in order to complete
i would just get it for killer instinct though if that game got a pc release i would have no reason to get it
