Right at the start of this year, FromSoftware confirmed its plans for an Elden Ring expansion, titled ‘Shadow of the Erdtree'. We've been waiting for more information ever since and it sounds like a full reveal is just around the corner.
According to YouTuber Ziostorm, who has had accurate FromSoftware information in the past, the Elden Ring expansion should be shown at The Game Awards in December, with a new trailer and an early 2024 release date. More specifically, it is claimed that the DLC will become available on the 5th of February, just in time for Elden Ring's two-year anniversary.
Elden Ring was first properly revealed in 2021 at Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest. With that in mind, it would not be surprising to see Keighley land a second reveal at The Game Awards, particularly after Elden Ring won the coveted GOTY award at his show last year.
Currently, little is officially known about Shadow of the Erdtree but if the game is releasing in early 2024 as reported, then we shouldn't have to wait long for a real update.
