Keiji Inafune is attempting to crowd fund even more content for Mighty No. 9, his spiritual successor to Megaman. The game was successfully funded on Kickstarter last year but Inafune attempted to gain more funding earlier this year by offering up more crowd funding incentives, such as an English language voice acted version of the game.
Now he is back for more, asking for $190,000 to make some DLC, despite the game already generating around $4 million and not being finished. Inafune's studio, Comcept, has announced that if it raises a further $190,000 by the end of the year, all backers will get some bonus DLC, featuring an extra level and boss.
Mighty No. 9 already has 67,000 backers and the two previous rounds of funding managed to raise around $4 million. However, seemingly in anticipation for a negative reaction to the announcement, Comcept discussed ‘potential DLC', stating:
“We want to stress that none of the developers have or would begin working in earnest on this DLC until their work is done on the Mighty No. 9 retail release”.
Here's the cost breakdown for the DLC:
Mighty No. 9 has had two successful rounds of crowd funding so far but three times might be pushing it a bit.

KitGuru Says: I was pretty amazed that Mighty No. 9 managed to hit its second round of funding, I wonder if people will be willing to buy in to it for a third time. What do you guys think? Is three rounds of funding a bit much? Should the developer be trying to fund DLC before the main game is even finished or available?

This should all have been covered in the initial kickstarter projects goal budget. Call it either money grabbing or bad planning because either way doesn’t sound like something I would put my money into
Crowdfrauding.
UGH! I was all excited to hear about it when it was first kickstarted. Finish the game you set out to make before you start making DLC. Yes jot down the ideas and things so you can come back to it later but that’s after you’ve finished and released the initial project. >:-|
What kind of gullible idiots would kickstart the same game a second time and more so a third time?
