Gigabyte launches ‘Take One, Get Two’ motherboard upgrade scheme

Gigabyte is set to start offering free upgrades on Z97 Black Edition motherboards. Starting from today, those who register the purchase of a Z97X-UD5H-BK, Z97X-UD3H-BK or a Z97X-Gaming G1 Black Edition motherboard within four weeks of purchase will be able to take part in the ‘Take One, Get Two' promotion, entitling buyers to a free upgrade to a ‘next gen' motherboard.

This upgrade warranty allows you to upgrade to one new motherboard within three years of buying your old one, essentially giving you two products for the price of one. This new deal will also extend your Gigabyte warranty by 60 months, covering buyers for a total of five years.

This upgrade plan only entitles you to a free upgrade to the direct equivalent of the board you purchased, for example, you wouldn't get a free upgrade from the Z97X-UD3H-BK to the next generation Gaming G1 board. However, if you did want to upgrade, registered buyers would only have to pay the retail price difference between the two boards, rather than full price.
