Payday 3 didn't have the best launch, with matchmaking errors and a few other lingering issues marring the day-one experience. Starbreeze promised a patch with over 200 QoL improvements shortly after launch but the update has unfortunately been pushed back by delays.
Payday 3's problems may run a bit deeper than anticipated. The game's first patch, which targets 200 Quality of Life improvements, has now been delayed once again. This time around, Starbreeze has not offered an estimated release date either, so we do not know if the update is still targeting an October rollout, or if it has been pushed back to November.
Writing on the Payday 3 Discord, the company apologies for “the lack of communication regarding the first patch”, adding that the team has “identified some issues that need to be fixed” before the patch can go out. However, this patch is the top priority for the team right now, which likely means any post-launch DLC plans have also been delayed a bit.
Given the issues getting this first patch out of the door, Starbreeze is “revamping” its patching process to try and ensure “a steady cadence and momentum with patches going forward”.

KitGuru Says: Currently, Payday 3 sits at an overall negative rating on Steam. Hopefully over time, Starbreeze can fix things up. The studio has faced financial issues in recent years, so if Payday 3 fails to take off, we do wonder about the studio's future.
