Razer has updated the Blade 14 gaming notebook

Razer has updated its Blade 14 inch gaming notebook for 2015, swapping out the old GTX 870m graphics chip for the new Maxwell based GTX 970m with improved power consumption capabilities. The laptop will also be available with a 1080p screen now as well as the 3200×1800 display introduced last year.

The Intel Core i7 CPU has also been updated and double the RAM is now available, making for a pretty powerful machine at just 0.7″ thick. The Intel Core i7 4720HQ is typically found in larger notebooks according to Razer. It runs at 2.6GHz standard and turbo boosts all the way up to 3.6GHz.

The Razer Blade 14 now comes with 16GB of RAM and can have up to 512GB of SSD storage for speed, Razer does not include a mechanical hard drive.

So how does Razer cram so much power in to such a small package? The company appears to be pretty proud of its ‘touch point' thermal cooling system, which directs heat away from the surfaces you are most likely to touch, allowing other parts of the laptop to get hotter than others.

The 3200×1800 version of this laptop will include a touch screen, while the 1080p model will not. You can read more about the Blade 14, HERE.

The new Razer Blade 14 starts off at $1999.99 for the full HD model with a fixed 256GB of SSD storage. The QHD version starts at $2199.99 with 128GB of SSD storage, although this can be upgraded to 512GB.

KitGuru Says: The Razer Blade laptop is only available in a few territories, most notably the US, so UK residents might be out of luck without spending extra on postage and custom charges. What do you guys think of the Razer Blade? Any of you own one?
