Microsoft Corp. is working on a new low-cost smartphone based on the Windows Phone 8 operating system. The new handset will target the same market segment as Nokia Asha and Nokia X devices.
The first phone in the Lumia 400 range will feature 4” display with 480*800 resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 (quad-core ARM Cortex-A5, Adreno 203 graphics engine, GSM/GPRS/EDGE/HSPA) system-on-chip as well as 5MP rear facing camera. The dimension of the model is 118.1 mm x 64.7 mm, which compares to the 119.9mm x 64 mm size of the Lumia 520, reports PhoneArena.
The Lumia 435 smartphone has already been certified in Indonesia, which means that it will become available shortly.
While the pricing of Lumia 435 is unknown, it is highly likely that it will be comparable to that of Nokia Asha and Nokia X, which means that it will cost less than $100 in developing countries.
