Those of you who have been holding off on playing Assassin's Creed: Unity due to its frame rate and performance issues may finally be able to play the game next week as Ubisoft has announced that Patch 4 will finally be arriving on Monday the 15th of December.
Patch 4 has been in the making for a long time and will finally address issues with performance and stability. Ubisoft's development team has been working to reduce the number of DirectX draw calls and prioritize how parts of the game load in order to squeeze more performance out of the hardware. It's taken a few weeks but hopefully the patch will provide a significant improvement.
Other issues to be fixed include online matchmaking and connectivity. Ubisoft notes that AMD users specifically should ensure that they have the latest drivers installed for optimal performance.
In case you missed it earlier this week, Ubisoft also announced that those who bought the Assassin's Creed season pass will also be eligible for a free game. The website that you can claim from will be going live on an unspecified day next week and you can choose from Far Cry 4, The Crew, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed Black Flag, Rayman Legends and Just Dance 2015.

KitGuru Says: We don't know how much of an impact on performance this patch will have but hopefully it will be significant. Have any of you guys been holding off on playing the game for this patch? Did any of you just give in and put up with the performance issues?
Three things need to happen before I’ll buy this:
1.) I’ve got some catching up to do with Black Flag and the DLC first.
2.) They need to sort the frame rate out on PC.
3.) It needs to be sold on Steam.
I’ll work on the first one, Ubi – over to you for the rest.

=/ Ubisoft dropped the ball on this one, not AMD so they should stop trying to throw AMD under the bus and look at their own failures as a game developer. AMD equipment is more than effiecent for every game out there. The only reason Ubisoft is having any issue is because they fucked up. They released a product that was not complete to try and make a quick buck. Ubisoft does not value their customers and will go to all lengths to act like someone else caused the issue rather than take any resposibility.
Agreed I have a full AMD rig and have been able to run games just as demanding as Unity and on high settings even and don’t even have an issue with them. (Far cry 4 namely I have been playing a lot on highest settings) Not one issue and they try to through AMD under the bus. It is like Watch Dogs all over again with AMD being thrown under the bus just because Ubisoft doesn’t want to admit they are failing their customers and NVIDIA and Intel have the popular *cult* following. I have always liked AMD and will never change and I get a ton of performance out of my rig and guess what costs less. I for one think I am done with Ubisofts bullshit. I am buying the crew only because I have been waiting for that game and played in the beta (Also have had no issues) and was really fun.
