If George Lucas directed the new Star Wars trailer…

While it was no Jurassic World, the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer has been setting the internet afire over the past few days, but clearly it was missing a few things. Like extraneous and unnecessary CGI, random things taking up half of the shot, more tie fighters and something to push the plot along. Hmm, what about trade negotiations?

Thank god we have fictional George Lucas to save the day for us: [yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v93Jh6JNBng']

Quite an impressive turnaround for Youtube TimTimFed, who managed to get this trailer out there just two days after the official Force Awakens trailer was released. As accurate as it feels though, fortunately it's not a reality. Lucas isn't anywhere involved with the directing of this movie, just some of the character writing.

Well, at least we know the tie fighters shot first

Of course you could easily poke fun at Mr Abrams methods of filmmaking too, as successful as he's been as of late. Just add lens flares to everything.

KitGuru Says: This silly trailer aside. Who's excited by the actual Force Awakens trailer? Did anyone else think the light sabre guard was a bit odd?

  1. The “odd” light saber is peanuts compared to the “football”…

  2. Having played various “Star Wars: Jedi something something” titles in the past, I can only assume that the sith bloke in the trailer has downloaded one of many lightsaber mods.

Who knows? Perhaps 30 years after the 2nd Death Star explodes, lightsabers are mass produced by Apple and there’s an app for that! All I know is that as far as lightsaber mods go this one is fairly pedestrian.

  3. I think the lens flare one is better 😛

  4. I’ll be looking forward to the film after seeing the trailer, the style seems more in keeping with the original trilogy, I’m not a fan of the crucifix light saber though !

  5. Cryss Roxas Leonhart

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who questioned a rolling droid on a fucking sand planet!

  6. Why not? It’s canon, they’re featured in some of the extended universe as well as the fact that they had a wiki page before the creation of the trailer. Sure, it’s a little ridiculous, but it’s also badass and already existed.

  7. I guess because I haven’t had much experience with the extended universe… anyway it’s nice to hear it wasn’t a disney creation !

  8. I prefer the end bit on this one, more TIE fighters is never a bad thing.

  9. That’s horrendous, urgh.

  10. That ‘timtimfed’ Video is not identical to the Official Version:

+wilsonjonathan that ‘Lens Flare Edition’ was not done correctly, the Len’s Halos are squished in some of the shots and not others; they are simulated (drawn) and not real projections superimposed over the Footage. The person was partly rushed and partly unfamiliar with what they wanted to accomplish.

I have an ‘in your face’ Lens Demo that shows the organic nature of REAL Anamorphic light leaks:

  11. I agree, lol, the point of it was I think a p**s take over the use of “blue flare” in the reboot Star Trek.
