Last Friday was a big one for PlayStation fans, as Insomniac released the sequel to its highly praised Spider-Man game. Spider-Man 2 has now been available for a few days and it has swiftly become the fastest-selling game in PS Studios' history.
During its first 24 hours on the market, Spider-Man 2 sold 2.5 million copies, making it the fastest-selling first-party game in PlayStation's history.
Spider-Man 2 also launched to rave reviews, garnering a 91 overall rating on Metacritic once the embargo lifted. This puts the game a few points higher than Spider-Man (2018), Insomniac's first Marvel game. Now with this sequel being so highly rated and topping sales charts, we can likely expect a Spider-Man 3 from Insomniac in the years ahead.
Aside from Spider-Man, Insomniac is also working on one other Marvel project, a standalone Wolverine game. However, not much is known about this game, or when it will release.

KitGuru Says: While I am enjoying Spider-Man 2 quite a bit I must say I've been surprised by the amount of progression-blocking bugs I've hit. I have had to reload checkpoints or restart missions several times so far but I expect that will all be ironed out over the next couple of months.
