People Can Fly is working on an Xbox exclusive RPG

People Can Fly didn't quite strike it big with Outriders but the studio has multiple new games lined up. One such game is Project Maverick, a new RPG developed in collaboration with Xbox.

We first heard about Project Maverick earlier this year but People Can Fly has now confirmed a few more details about the game, as it is beginning to staff up for development. The game is described in job listings as “a yet unannounced AAA game developed with Microsoft” across teams in Europe and North America. Currently, the studio has 40 open positions for this game.

As hiring is just starting to ramp up, we can safely assume that the game is still in the early stages of development. Job listings also reveal that the game will have RPG elements and be built using Unreal Engine. While not confirmed to be using Unreal Engine 5, it seems highly likely that the game will make use of Epic's latest set of development tools.

As a Microsoft-funded title, we can expect Project Maverick to release for Xbox consoles and PC. It should also end up being a day-one title for Xbox Game Pass.

KitGuru Says: Outriders may not have been GOTY material but it was a pretty decent looter shooter. Now we'll have to wait and see what the studio has planned for its new game with Xbox.
