Halo 5: Guardians beta launches today

Those of you that own an Xbox One along with a copy of the Halo Master Chief Collection will be able to check out the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta test later today. This test will last three weeks and is there to help 343 Industries to tweak gameplay based on feedback.

This long test will also help stress test the servers early on. The servers will go live at 9am Pacific Standard Time in the US and 5PM GMT here in the UK, according to a tweet made by the official Halo Twitter account.

Early gameplay footage from early press demos show off a few of the changes made to the Halo formula. Mobility will be a big factor, with unlimited sprint along with the ability to climb on objects and slide.

343 Industries is aiming to do things right with the Halo 5: Guardians launch, which is currently penciled in for the end of next year. The developer faced its fair share of issues following the launch of The Master Chief Collection and is now looking to win back the good graces of Xbox gamers.

  1. I’ll give it a shot (har, har!). I am terrible at multiplayer but, given I have the MCC, there is no reason to try it

  2. I’m downloading it now. The perks of being a preview member. I would have bought the mcc just for this but thankfully I didn’t have to.
