HTC One M8 to receive Android 5.0 update this month

Those of you that own an HTC One M8 will be fortunate enough to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update within the next two weeks. Google launched the latest version of its operating system late last year and has only made its way on to a handful of devices so far.

According to developer, LlabTooFeR, the update to the HTC One M8 may arrive as soon as next week but could slip to the week after. It is also likely that HTC will roll out the update in waves, slowly increasing the number of regions its available in so it may take some time to land on your device.

This means that HTC will end up hitting its January release window for the update. Previous ROM leaks of Android 5.0 for the HTC M8 had shown off new tweaks to the Sense Android skin and user interface to take advantage of some of the software's brand new features.

Since the launch of the HTC One, the company has been making extra effort to supply customers with swift updates. Are any of you guys running Android Lollipop? Are those of you that own a HTC One looking forward to the update?

  1. We want /need /crave the Lollipop update with sense 6!

  2. Mean while with AT&T customers, we’re still stuck on 4.4.2…

  3. This is a joke…how long it’s taking

  4. I’m been running a android 5.0.1 ROM on my htc one (m8) on Vzw for a few weeks now.

  5. Well, the reason we’re not on 4.4.3 (HTC’s version of normal 4.4.4) is because users were complaining about major battery drain because of the update; so they decided to cancel it and jump to lollipop.

  6. Although they pulled 4.4.3, we were suppose to get 4.4.4 with HTC’s Eye experience/camera update. But they even failed sending out those OTA updates without any real reason why.
