Since its release last year, the team at Polyphony Digital have been diligently updating Gran Turismo 7 with a whole host of new features, cars and modes. Studio head and GT7 director Kazunori Yamauchi has now teased that a “big update” is set to drop some time this week.
Teasing the upcoming free update, Kazunori Yamauchi took to Twitter to say: “A big update is coming next week”. As he has done with all prior updates, Yamauchi also shared a veiled image of a bunch of cars which will be included as part of the patch.
Eagle-eyed fans have already figured out the models of the vehicles which are set to drop as part of the update, namely:
- Lexus LFA 2010
- Porsche 992 GT3 RS
- GR-R R33 NISMO 400R
- Mercedes Benz 190E EVO2
- Tesla Model 3
- Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 2018
- Dodge Charger 1969
It is worth noting that this is likely to be but a small taste of what is to come with the update. Each previous patch has brought with it much more than just a few extra cars, and considering the fact that this update has been stated to be “big,” expect more nifty additions.
That said, even if the extent of the update is limited to the addition of these cars, the patch will still be a meaty one, including nearly double the number of vehicles when compared to previous updates.
GT7 already offered a rather comprehensive package when it launched last year, but the continued and consistent support by Polyphony Digital has helped to only further cement its identity as ‘The Real Driving Simulator’. It’ll be interesting to see what the full extent of the update holds when it arrives some time this week.
