New leak shows HTC One M9 specs

The HTC One M9 is due to be officially revealed in just a few weeks at MWC but as usual, we may already know most of what HTC has in store for us thanks to a new leak, detailing the specifications of the device.

According to new leaks published by UpLeaks on Twitter, the One M9 will feature Qualcomm' new Snapdragon 810 chip, 3GB of RAM, a 5-inch 1080p display and a 20 megapixel rear facing camera.

With these specifications, the HTC One M9 is shaping up to be a pretty powerful device. It is also nice to see that HTC is making a sensible choice by opting for a 1080p display rather than going for 1440p and using up more battery power.

A few accessories for the phone will also be available, including a new and improved version of the DotView case, which debuted with the HTC One M8 last year. There will also be a clear case and a waterproof headset available shortly after launch.

KitGuru Says: HTC has really turned its mobile division around with the launch of the HTC One. However, the company will need to switch things up eventually design wise in order to avoid brand fatigue.

  1. The problem with the M9 is that I don’t see any ‘stand-out’ features that would make a consumer want to buy this model over another competitors model. We’ll wait and see what happens when announced at MWC in Barcelona in March.

  2. A lot of people got the M7, then moved to the M7 because they were happy with the former. Got to admit, I hardly hear a bad word about the HTC One(s). There was hardly a huge difference between the 7 and 8.

I also think sticking with 1080p, in a sea of devices pushing 1440p and higher, is a great move. 1080p is just way better at this screen size and this level of GPU power.

  3. I would agree partially with this statement but you really need a ‘stand-out’ feature. As an example put a large battery in the device to drastically improve battery life.

  4. Not for me, riding on the success of the M8, I’d get the M9 as my next phone just as it is. Snapdragon 810 and 1080p are good enough features to me.

  5. It really depends on the person to be honest. In my opinion, 1080p is better for phones anyways. Sure you can tell the difference between 1080p and 1440p if you look close enough, but is the worse battery life worth it? Speaking of batteries, if the M9 had a big enough battery to last 2-3 days, I think a lot of people would invest in it as their next smartphone.

  6. its DDR4 🙂

What worse battery life? The LG G34 has 1440p and seems to be at the top of most battery tests …
