Star Wars Battlefront leak shows campaign and DLC details

Star Wars Battlefront is due out at the end of this year but some early details about the game's campaign and future DLC plans have already leaked. According to new information, Battlefront will come with a lengthy campaign, covering the entire Star Wars saga so far.

You will also supposedly be able to play as both the good guys and the bad guys. The multiplayer portion of the game will also feature massive 64 player battles, much like in Battlefield, the series that developer DICE is best known for.

This information was obtained by fan site, Making Star Wars, which published a long list of ‘leaks'. However, this news should be treated as rumor and taken with a pinch of salt until EA officially reveals Battlefront details itself, which will likely happen at E3 later this year.

The game's campaign will mostly focus on the original trilogy of films but there will be parts of the prequels thrown in. Additionally, the final part of the campaign is due to be a prequel to Star Wars Episode VII, which is due to release shortly after Battlefront in December.

Some multiplayer game modes will feature space to land battles but there will also be a ‘hero' system, which will allow you to play as certain iconic characters upon achieving a certain amount of kills.

Battlefront supposedly has an “aggressive” DLC plan as well, it sounds a lot like Battlefield Premium, with five content packs planned with several new maps each.

KitGuru Says: This is all rumor for now, we will have to wait a bit longer for official details from EA. That said, if all of this turns out to be true, then I'm not too sure how I feel about it. What do you guys think of the recent batch of Battlefront details? Is this good or bad news?

KitGuru Games: Omni-movement culminates 30 years of FPS innovation

Black Ops 6 is officially here, bringing the innovative new Omni-movement system to the game. While on the surface a relatively simple change, I argue that Treyarch intimately studied DOOM and the past 30 years of first-person shooter evolution to craft one of the most satisfying gameplay systems yet.

  1. Bah if its as good as BF, im fine with buying the DLCs :3
I cant wait for gorgeous destroyable Star Wars scenery 😉

  2. Remember how Battlefront 2 had literally dozens of maps, skins and game modes all included with the main game? It didn’t try to sell you Hoth, Tattooine and Degobah separately for $5 each.

  3. Do you remember the old game had galactic conquest? i hope to hell they put that in.

  4. The whole game should just be a DLC. It already looks like a reskin of BF4 and i garuntee you the x-wing controls will be as wonky as the jet controls. Given the evidence i can’t see DICE doing the game justice.

  5. god dammit, i knew it, i just didnt want to admit it to myself. dice will ruin battlefront. no point lying to myself anymore this game will literally just be BF4 with starwars skins for your characters and guns. i am so supremely upset that this is what is happening but theres no getting around it. they are trying to sell me a reskinned BF4 for $90+ because they slapped a starwars sticker on the cover. inb4 the game case cover is literally just the BF4 cover with a stormtrooper.

  6. And they will continue to sell stuff separately, because not only do customers put up with this, in droves, they will even go online and defend it and say they are fine with it. Nice big green light to the companies to continue selling day one DLC, locked on-disc content and a few maps or skins at inflated prices; why do some people not realise this has nothing to do with development costs, quality assurance and time constraints, but is rather entirely dictated by ‘business models’?

    /rant, sorry.

  7. But Battlefront 2 did have one Map pack which bundled a few maps from the first one in it for just $5! I don’t like the idea of DLC maps either as I wonder what main planets will they leave out of the game just for the sake of cash! I can see DICE ruining the iconic gameplay that Pandemic made to have Battlefront 2 so amazing and addictive in the firstplace 🙁 Sure if it doesn’t work out we can all just start a petition to update Battlefront 2 to run on Steamworks! 😛

  8. Just shut up and take my money.

  9. better be able to play in third person….

if this is BF3 reskinned to look like starwars I’m not interested. BF3 was a mess, from the plugins and such you needed to install to the constant advertising, borked online services, and shoddy campaign.

  11. I actually liked what I read. I only hope that they don’t take out main iconic planets. Also I hope you can have good light saber duels. Later I hope they add a DLC for the prequels.

  12. I also agree with overfluffydoge. I hope they have galactic conquest
