Battlefield Hardline console resolutions confirmed

Battlefield Hardline comes out in a couple of weeks on all current generation platforms. Visceral Games is hoping to have a better launch in order to make up for the mess that was Battlefield 4 although one thing hasn't been discussed just yet, what resolution and frame rate will the game be running at one the Xbox One and PlayStation 4?

Visceral Games confirmed its console settings on Twitter and they are the same as Battlefield 4 at launch. The Xbox One will be running the game in 720p while the PS4 pulls ahead a bit running at 900p,both consoles will be running the game at 60 frames per second.

While the resolution on both consoles is fairly disappointing, especially considering that Battlefield is fairly easy to drive even on budget gaming PCs, Visceral has made a choice worthy of noting. Rather than pushing graphical fidelity, like many modern titles, the studio has opted for a higher frame rate.

Battlefield Hardline launches on the 19th of March on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. There will be a premium DLC membership and Xbox One owners will get early access thanks to the EA Access subscription service.

KitGuru Says: It has been a long time since the launch of the new consoles and most developers have managed to squeeze a bit more performance out of the hardware. It's a shame that Visceral has had to settle for the same graphical settings as Battlefield 4 at the launch of the new generation systems.

  1. At least they’re 60FPS. That has to be said for them, really. 60FPS is more important than 1080p.

  2. They have said that for alot of other releases that the games will run at 60 fps, but very few releases have actually held up that promise

  3. considering battlefield is fairly easy to drive on budget PCs? really?

  4. “like many modern titles, the studio has opted for a higher frame rate.” please tell me what other titles lowered the resolution for an fps gain? im pretty sure its the other way around, almost every title aims for 30fps and still much of the time cant get 1080p

  5. dude you didnt understand the sentence.
It’s “Rather than pushing graphical fidelity, like many modern titles”

  6. I agree, I always run my games at 720p on PC anyway just to ensure I will always get a steady 60fps! So I will gladly sacrifice graphical fidelity for better playability

  7. Since when is Battlefield an ‘Easy game to drive’???? On my GTX980, its an easy game to drive. LOL but not on a budget PC lol. And not on a $400 console either.

  8. it IS easy to drive, you CAN Play it with old CPUs and GPUs, it just doesn’t quite as good 😉

  9. it’s an easy game to drive… on my oc-ed fx-8120 and R9 290 i run with most on ultra(just AA and stuff bumped down a bit) and get a steady 60 fps on 4k 😕 that is BF4

  10. On my second pc I have a Radeon HD5850 installed, a 200 dollar videocard from 2009. It runs Battlefield 4 expectantly well. On medium/highish settings it easly does 60fps average.

  11. my old gtx 570 can run it at like medium 60fps, any pc that can be considered even a budget ‘gaming’ rig would have enough power to run it at 60fps

  12. Running BFH at 720p should ensure 60FPS. When I was playing the beta it was very light on my PC, at an easy 60FPS+ 1080p.

  13. It’s lighter than BF4 from what I’ve seen, partly because it isn’t actually as graphically advanced.

  16. oh okay, didnt know that 🙂

  17. Don’t be surprised when DirectX 12 bumps up previously released titles to full 1080p 60fps 😉
