Emmett Shear, CEO of Twitch, said: “Twitch broadcasters have the most passionate fans, so we want to create an amazing experience where they can come together in person. TwitchCon will be an opportunity for the entire community — broadcasters, game developers, viewers, and us — to play and learn together.”
So far not much else is known, this is just a save the date announcement for now, information in where to get tickets, travel and places to stay will be coming later over the next few months.
There are more than 100 million Twitch users in the world right now, so this convention has potential to be very popular. The event is due to be co-produced by ReedPOP, a pop culture event specialist.
