Twitch Plays is now taking on Halo

Twitch Plays is a pretty interesting idea, a game is set up and streamed, then the chat gets to control the entire game. Twitch viewers helped beat several Pokemon games and now Twitch Plays is taking on something a little more challenging, Halo Combat Evolved.

Bungie's classic shooter is the latest to join the Twitch Plays craze. The game is set in a 3D environment so the Twitch chat has to move Master Chief, avoid obstacles, aim the gun and shoot down targets. It isn't going to be an easy game to beat, especially with hundreds of commands being input at once.

Twitch Plays Halo: Combat Evolved has been running for around 24 hours now and as you can imagine, progress has been pretty slow. Right now there are around 1200 people in the chat, trying to guide Master Chief through the first level once you escape the space ship at the start of the game.

KitGuru Says: Twitch Plays Halo could take a while to finish but this is an interesting experiment considering that Halo is considerably more complicated to get through than any of the Pokemon games.

KitGuru Games: Omni-movement culminates 30 years of FPS innovation

Black Ops 6 is officially here, bringing the innovative new Omni-movement system to the game. While on the surface a relatively simple change, I argue that Treyarch intimately studied DOOM and the past 30 years of first-person shooter evolution to craft one of the most satisfying gameplay systems yet.

  1. It’s unfortunate that Master Chief does not have the Helix Fossil to guide him on the right path.
