Metal Gear Solid V will hit PC after consoles

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is on the way this September. The 1st of September release date was announced today for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the last generation consoles. The PC platform will be getting the game after, on the 15th of September.

The release date actually leaked yesterday but was confirmed by Konami today. Kojima has said that this may be his last Metal Gear Solid game. The game was announced for consoles first, we only found out about the PC version late last year so it isn't too surprising that the release date for the platform is pushed back a bit.

Aside from the PC and console release dates being announced, a Day One pre-order edition and a collector's edition were also shown off.

Those who pre-order on console will get a map of the game world, DLC items, an Adam-ska special handgun, a personal ballistic shield, cardboard box, Blue Urban Snake costume and an MGS Online XP boost. The Steam version of the game will include all of this and won't be limited to those who pre-order.

The collector's edition costs £99 and contains a bit more,  notable inclusions are a half scale replica of Snake's bionic arm, a behind the scenes documentary blu-ray, a map of the game world and a steelbook case. There is also a long list of DLC items thrown in.

KitGuru Says: Following the excellent port of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, the PC version of MGS V is looking promising. PC gamers will get the game two weeks late on the 15th of September but all day one edition DLC will be bundled in, which is a nice touch. Are any of you guys looking forward to Metal Gear Solid V on Steam?

Black Ops 6 is officially here, bringing the innovative new Omni-movement system to the game. While on the surface a relatively simple change, I argue that Treyarch intimately studied DOOM and the past 30 years of first-person shooter evolution to craft one of the most satisfying gameplay systems yet.

OH COME ON 2 THE GAME IS GOLD ALREADY. Konami delayed it for more marketing… why do we have to wait 2 weeks after console…

  4. They want to milk console players first

  5. I’m pretty sure it has to do with the console manufacturers. They “might” pay them to push console sales to keep console players thinking “We get all games first” That’s basically some cruel way of marketing but im sure MGS TPP will work very well on PC since Groud Zeroes worked absolutely phenomenal on pc

Genuine question, do goldmasters even exist for PC versions of games anymore? As long as they’re digital download exclusive which the vast majority of PC games are now surely they’re able to continue working on the game until basically release date

Technically yes, but there are also digital versions of this for console. The difference is it is genrally bug/glitch fixing, optimisation and additional content in this kind of situation, rather than the game not being finished.
