HTC is rumoured to be planning to launch its own 8.9 inch Android tablet on the 8th of April, if true, the announcement will likely take place at the same time as the HTC One M9 Plus, which we got a peek at just a few days ago thanks to a spec sheet leak.
According to a new leak from GizmoChina, HTC’s new tablet will feature an 8.9 inch display with a 1530×2048 resolution. It will also be powered by a 2.2 GHz eight core Allwinner H8 CPU, which uses the 28nm process. Graphics will be handled by a PowerVR chip.
Judging from the spec sheet, this isn’t going to be quite as good as the Nexus 9, which was built for Google by HTC. The tablet will also use 2GB of RAM and come in 16GB and 32GB storage options.
Additionally, there will be a 16MP camera on the rear and an 8MP version on the front. HTC’s own BoomSound speakers will also make an appearance.

KitGuru Says: HTC’s new tablet won’t quite rival the Nexus 9, which launched last year, but it may be an attractive option depending on the price.
