Rumour has it that Sony is currently working on re-entering the phablet market with an Xperia Z4 Ultra smartphone. Sony’s new handset will reportedly come equipped with a new 6 inch display, launching alongside the smaller Xperia Z4.
This information comes from DigiTimes (Via TechRadar), which spoke to an anonymous souce inside a Taiwan manufacturing plant, where Sony is apparently producing the Xperia Z4 line up, which will launch later this year.
While an Xperia Z4 Ultra is likely considering Sony’s past smartphone releases. The last time Sony released a phablet device was back at the start of 2014, when it launched the Xperia T2 Ultra.
Since then, Sony has been through a lot of internal restructuring. The smartphone division hasn’t been doing so well so Sony is apparently making an effort to cut down on the sheer amount of smartphones it releases, focussing its efforts a bit more.

KitGuru Says: Quite a few people like Sony’s smartphones but so far, it hasn’t done such a great job of stealing market share away from the likes of Samsung or HTC. Do any of you guys own a Sony smartphone? Are you waiting to see what it comes up with later this year?
