Grand Theft Auto V for the PC will unlock in just a few hours time but there are some things you should do while you wait- like ensuring you have the latest driver updates for your graphics card. Nvidia has just launched its latest ‘Game Ready' driver update in preparation for Grand Theft Auto V.
This update adds in SLI support, for those of you making use of multiple graphics cards. It also adds in a 3D Vision profile if you happen to game on a 3D monitor, this particular profile is rated ‘Excellent', so you shouldn't have any issues.
While GTA V is the highlight for this driver, it also adds in some improvements for other games. Project Cars, Assassin's Creed Rogue, Oddworld: New and Tasty all have new SLI profiles, even Victor Vran has an SLI profile now, which is surprising considering that the game is currently in Early Access on Steam.
This latest driver update should help Nvidia users get the best day one performance they can from Grand Theft Auto V. You can download the driver update manually, HERE. Alternatively, you can update your drivers through the GeForce Experience.
AMD has also launched their updated GPU driver, featuring a CrossFire profile for Grand Theft Auto V. You can download the AMD Driver update, HERE.

GTA V is out! and there’s a 320MB day one patch… a day one patch? really? what are we, console peasants? what the hell did I preload for if they’re doing this shit?
Because god forbid a patch right, especially a 320MB one for a 65GB game AMADGAD TOTALLY POINTLESS PRELOAD
Considering how slow the downloads would be and were? Yeah, god forbid it.
Oh sorry mister high and mighty with your 1GBPS internet but some of us have to dealc with sub-megabyte download speeds. pair that with the fact that download servers overload as everyones trying to download this pathc at the exact same time and you’ve got hours wasted.
All they had to do was release the day one patch before the game released as a secondary preload and the download servers would’ve taken it easier and everyone wouldve been able to play straight off the bat because, you know, thats what the WHOLE POINT of preloading is for.
If not that then they could’ve made it a peer to peer download. at least then the more people downloading it means it would’ve been a faster download, instead impeding us entirely with a server that cant handle the requests
This is 320MB we are talking about. IT IS 2015 a 13mbps conenction which is slow by todays standards can download that in less than 7 minutes. Obviosuly a 65GB Download is an enitrely different story and your only option really is retail. If people ar ereally complaining about downloading a 320MB patch then WOW. There were ut2k4 patches bigger than that for gods sake.
Slow, sorry what is your internet I was getting great speeds of rockstar’s servers. 320MB THERE WERE PATCHES IN 2004 THAT WERE BIGGER. It is 2015
Do you even international? many countries are still very rural and moreover contain a market of shitty ISP’s, who claim to give you 130MbPS but in reality you’re getting an 8-16MbPS or less. Just because you’re lucky enough to be in an area with a decent connection does’t mean everyone else gets the same luxury
But not day one patches.
That’s beyodn the point, you were told way ahead of time, that the game would be 65GB, there was 2 options put up with the pain of downloading on a slow connection or buy retail. 320MB DOES NOT TAKE LONG TO DOWNLOAD EVEN ON 8mbps.
Do you know why? Because then people were barely ahead of dial up speeds 1mbps was practically like fiber is today. DVDs were just becoming the standard. Times were different back then which is why day 1 patches did not exist. If technology was advanced as it is now back then… THEY WOULD HAVE EXISTED
It’s exactly the point. preload means they push the game download before it releases so you can play it the second it comes out. they make a patch after they’ve pushed the 65GB, they push that to preload as well, not wait until the game comes out where millions of people will be forced to download the same patch at the same time. If you know even the most basic of server knowledge you’ll know that that slows down already slow internet speeds. and you think buying retail is an alternative option? are you genuinely retarded? These patches are created after the games gone gold, do you honestly think you’ll be avoiding joning everyone else in downloading a patch that shouldn’t even exist in the first place what with all these delays on servers that cant handle everyone downloading at the same time
Do nto give me server knowledge. I work in IT and have done for over 4 years.
They had the main game which people already downloaded, they then noticed some issues, which could not be put in the main 65GB as it needed a install, which can not be done until the game unlocked. Which resulted in them unfortunately having to release it on day one. Luckily it was a TINY PATCH for a game of it’s caliber so even with a lot of people downloading at the same time like any game ever, even if they only pull say 10MB they will not be waiting more than 30 minutes. In fact at 10MB it would download in around 5 minutes. Given people waited over 2 years for the game, that should not be an issue.
As for me being retarded, are you? If you read what I said, I stated that if you DID NOT WANT TO DL 65GB WITH A SLOW INTERNET CONNECTION THEN YOU SHOULD BUY THE RETAIL.
ALSO TO YOU READ COMMENT, THINGS DID NOT SLOW DOWN MAJORLY AND THE SERVERS DID HANDLE EVERYONE DOWNLOADING
now who’s the one going off-point? Who the fucks complaining about the 65GB installation? The problem here is the 350MB day one patch jesus fucking christ. There is no limitation that says that day one patch had to be released only after the game was released ITS A PRELOAD LAUNCHER, you push patches to the server and it throws it at the players before the game releases THATS THE POINT OF A PRELOAD LAUNCHER
UNLESS IT HAS TO BE INSTALLED, WHICH THE GAME WAS NOT UNTIL IT OFFICIALLY RELEASED TO STOP PEOPLE PLAYING IT EARLY. THEREFORE IT HAD TO BE INSTALLED DAY 1 AND DOWNLOADED DAY 1. AS IT WOULD BE EASIER THAN REWRITING THE LAUNCHER FOR CRYBABIES COMPLAINING ABOUT A DAY 1 PATCH
