DICE has been using the Battlelog system for its games in the Battlefield series for some time now so many wondered if the same system would be used in the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront. However, we now know that this won't be the case as a DICE producer has confirmed that a new system will be used instead.
Writing on NeoGAF, DICE Producer, Jesper Nielsen said: “While Uprise has been doing Battlelog, does that automatically mean that we will do Battlelog for Star Wars Battlefront? No, it won't. That can only be an assumption, and I can tell you, no, there won't be Battlelog for Star Wars: Battlefront.”
For those out of the loop, Battlelog is the system used for multiplayer in the Battlefield games. On the PC, Battlelog is accessed from within the browser, rather than from in the game, which can be quite confusing for newcomers.
The system built for Battlefront is being handled by Uprising, the same company behind the Battlelog but according to another DICE employee on Reddit, Battlefront's system will be built from scratch. We don't know if it will resemble the traditional Battlelog at all, or if it will be browser-based on the PC.

KitGuru Says: I'm personally not a big fan of how Battlelog currently works, I would much prefer a traditional server browser in-game. Although I might be in the minority, what do you guys think of Battlelog? Would you mind seeing something similar in Star Wars Battlefront later this year?
I personally hate battlelog as well and prefer the usual browsers as well. As well as just have an in game menu screen, doing all of it outside the game kills it for me.

“…Battlefront’s system will be built from scratch.”
Uh oh.
Battlelog can die, and the sooner it does, the better!
Is Battlelog that bad? Haven’t always been a pleasant experience, but I have actually found myself fiddling with the mobile app to work on layouts for a soldier of vehicle, I kind of liked that ability.
Thank god! i was looking for this news and im happy it was already stated earlier this year 😀 Hopefully the new system isnt in a web browser and is built in game.
and i wont be using battlefield, sorry but me and my friends were all super hyped for it, then the news came… no looking down the iron sights…. no server browser….. no thanks EA
yeah i admit id prefer to have a normal old in game server browser again but id still rather have battlelog than nothing if matchmaking is the only other option, im not even gona get it as it stands, no iron sights no server browser, sounds like a typical wasted game meant for consoles again
nope you dont get it, its NOT in game, its not ANYWHERE, there is no server browser, ONLY matchmaking, you have no control over what server you join, its going to be terrible
no its fine, its annoying having to have a browser open and closing it when the game loads but it does its job, but now we just get matchmaking… nothing else
why? youd rather have just matchmaking? where you cant stop yourself from constantly ending up back in the same server you just left because you have no control? imagine you get into a server, only 3 people and your ping is like 200……. you leave, try again, same server, thats matchmaking for you, its never gotten better.
matchmaking meh, games gone from “epic” to “irrelevant” in no time at all
Listen here, friend. Four months ago we weren’t faceblasted by “No battlelog… or server browser!” by DICE. Back then, the prospect of an in-game server browser was still what everyone wanted, and what was possible.
