Zalman unveils new CNPS13X Black CPU air cooler with reverse direct-touch heatpipes

Zalman has unveiled the new CNPS13X Black tower CPU cooler. The company has a lengthy series of side-flow tower coolers, but this is one of the first with a modern look and stylish top plate.

The CNPS13X Black CPU air cooler has a standard aluminium fin-stack tower heatsink skewed slightly to the left to avoid fan encroachment into the motherboard's memory region. A nickel-plated copper base contacts the CPU, through which five 6mm copper heat pipes flow, transferring heat to the heatsink ventilated by a 120mm Zalman AF120 fan. The cooler's base has a reverse direct-touch heat pipe design, which lowers the gap between the heat source and the heat pipes to improve conductivity.

The integrated fan has a 40,000-hour-rated hydraulic bearing and a webbed impeller to channel its airflow. It accepts a 4-pin PWM input, rotates at speeds ranging from 600 to 2,000 RPM, produces up to 69.12 CFM of airflow, has a static pressure of 2.01 mm H2O, and has a maximum rated noise output of 29.7 dBA.

The ZALMAN CNPS13X Black has a thermal load of 240W. The cooler is 135 mm x 79 mm x 159 mm (WxDxH) and weighs 810g. We are still waiting on pricing and availability details.
