It looks like AMD might skip the desktop Ryzen 7000G altogether. As per the latest reports, AMD will jump straight to the Ryzen 8000G series, which, according to AMD's naming structure, suggests the upcoming desktop APUs will come out in 2024.
According to HKEPC (via VideoCardz), the Phoenix silicon based on Zen 4 and RDNA 3 architectures would be used by the Ryzen 8000G series, not the 7000G as previously thought. As it seems, AMD will release at least four new SKUs and respective Pro variants.

The Taiwanese outlet claims AMD has already sent out early engineering samples to board manufacturers who have started releasing updated AGESA Combo AM5 PI firmware for their 600-series motherboards. It has been reported that these partners are exploring support for the next desktop series.
If rumours are to be believed, the AMD Ryzen 7 8700G will feature Phoenix1 silicon with 8x Zen4 cores and a 12-CU iGPU based on RDNA 3. On the other hand, the Ryzen 5 8600G is expected to have a scaled-down version with just 6x Zen4 Cores.
In addition to this, AMD is also working on two versions based on the Phoenix2 die (aka Small Phoenix). This chip has been designed for the low-cost laptop market and is the first monolithic architecture to use Zen4 and smaller Zen4c cores. The Ryzen 3 8300G is expected to have the same configuration as the mobile Ryzen 3 7440U, with one Zen4 core and three Zen4c cores. Meanwhile, the Ryzen 5 8500G will feature two Zen4 cores and four Zen4c cores. Both versions are expected to have a 4-CU RDNA 3 iGPU.
