Samsung Galaxy S6 surpasses 10 million sales

Samsung's latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6, has surpassed the ten million sales milestone. However, it did surprisingly hit the number slower than both the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S5, despite record level pre-orders being reported prior to release.

Korean News site, Yonhap News, a high-ranking Samsung executive confirmed that sales of the Galaxy S6 have still been slower than the company's last two flagship devices. That said, sales haven't been bad, with ten million units having been sold within one month of being on sale.

Samsung also has high expectations for the Galaxy S6 in the long run, anticipating as many as 70 million device shipments before the end of the fiscal year: “The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are drawing positive responses. I have no doubt that they will be the biggest sellers in the Galaxy series ever”.

Samsung has some follow-up variants of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge coming up as well, with a limited edition Iron Man model coming soon and a few new color variants including ‘Topaz Blue' and ‘Emerald Green'.

KitGuru Says: The Samsung Galaxy S6 has been an impressive device and likely has what it takes to overcome the brand fatigue Samsung faced with the Galaxy S5, which caused a huge drop in sales compared to its predecessor. Do any of you have a Galaxy S6? How are you finding it?
