You can now grab Telltale games DRM-free on GOG

Telltale Games is the latest studio to begin supporting GOG and its DRM-free initiative. Kicking things off with Telltale's Game of Thrones series, which is now available via GOG and playable via the newly launched GOG Galaxy client. The publisher's other popular titles are expected to appear on the store soon.

The Walking Dead, Tales from Borderlands and The Wolf Among Us will all be landing on GOG soon. If you have yet to buy Telltale's Game of Thrones, then GOG has it at 40 per cent off to celebrate the launch on its platform.

“Thanks to GOG Galaxy, we're able to bring in major new titles, and the award-winning Telltale series are a prime example of that”, says Guillaume Rambourg, Managing Director at GOG.com in a press release.  “Gamers finally get to enjoy the engaging, story-driven adventures DRM-free: anywhere and at any time – but also benefit from achievements and other optional GOG Galaxy features if they want to. It's the freedom of choice that GOG.com is all about.”

Since the launch of GOG Galaxy, publishers have been giving GOG much more attention as a platform and Telltale is likely just the beginning. The door is now open for more high budget, triple A titles to go DRM-free.

  1. Tried it of course. Not yet at Steam-level of functionality but slowly going forward. I wouldn’t call it yet a real alternative to the Steam client, that won’t happen until next year probably, but it is, at least, not half as ugly as the Steam client
