Over a million players have already beaten Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3 will undoubtedly go down as one of the biggest success stories of 2023. After spending years in Early Access, the role playing game officially launched back in August to a massive wave of success, achieving universal acclaim and far exceeding sales expectations. Despite being a 100 hour experience, developer Larian Studio has now revealed that over 1.3 million players have completed the game.

Taking to Twitter to release a whole bunch of stats and figures, Larian Studio said “Since our launch in August, over 1.3 million players have completed Baldur's Gate 3. A number almost equaled by those of you transformed into a wheel of cheese.”

Other interesting statistics include the fact that the ‘Berserker’ has been the most popular subclass; players have spoken to over 113 million corpses; and Shadowheart has been by far the most popular love interest – seeing over 50% of all players completing her arc.

In total, almost half a billion hours have been spent playing the game, or 51,662 years. Perhaps even more surprising is the fact that 8196 of those years were spent in the character creator alone.

The full infographic can be found HERE, but regardless it is safe to say that Baldur’s Gate 3 is a bona-fide success.
