Ubisoft announces Avatar Season Pass

While Ubisoft is known for many things, the publisher has garnered a reputation over the years  for its love of DLC – in particular Season Passes. As such, it comes as little surprise that ahead of the launch of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, a Season Pass has now been announced.

Releasing a ‘Season Pass Trailer’ to YouTube, the contents of this DLC was revealed, with Ubisoft stating “The Season Pass offers new gameplay experiences and storylines: Get access to two story packs, the Familiar Echoes bonus quest, a banshee cosmetic set, and more!”

The first story pack is titled ‘The Sky Breaker’ and will see you “face a mysterious shadow” upon its release in Summer of 2024. The second story pack meanwhile is known as ‘Secrets of the Spires’ and will have players “engage in epic aerial battles as you discover the secret of the new canyon region”. Story pack 2 is planned to release in ‘Fall’ of 2024 while the aforementioned Familiar Echoes bonus quest will be available at launch on the 7th of December.

Currently, no price has been announced for the Season Pass, but considering the fact that the game’s Gold Edition includes the DLC and costs £94.99, expect the Season Pass to be purchasable for around £25.

While not necessarily a bad sign, some players take issue with games that announce a Season Pass prior to the game even launching. That said, this has been Ubisoft’s modus operandi for years now, so it’s not surprising to see.
