Well it's happening again, Ubisoft is once again ‘re-dedicating' itself to the PC platform, this time by claiming that the next Assassin's Creed game will be developed properly for the PC. As many of you will remember, last year, when Ubisoft released Assassin's Creed: Unity, the game remained broken for two months. Five emergency patches were issued to get things working but the game still ran incredibly poorly on a wide-range of hardware.
This time around with Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, Ubisoft is apparently taking a different approach. Speaking with PC Gamer, the game's creative director, Marc-Alexis Côté said: “We've got an internal team that's dedicated to the PC version, and one of the things that I'm happy about is that we're really taking our time with the PC version to really make it shine”.
“We want the game to really work well on the PC on day one, which is why it's not the same launch [date] as the Xbox One and the PS4 versions. It will come a bit later in the fall, but I think it will be worth the wait. We're working really hard on optimizing the game, making it run smoother on a wider range of PCs. We're really dedicating a team to working on this and making sure it shines.”
Last year, Ubisoft turned itself in to a bit of a joke by trying to spin 30 frames per second in to a positive point, claiming Far Cry 4 would look the same on PC and consoles and then with the release of Assassin's Creed: Unity. It is safe to say that Ubisoft has lost most if not all credibility with PC gamers so really, it should be working hard to try and win them back over.

KitGuru Says: Ubisoft has shot itself in the foot time and again with PC gamers over the last 18 months. Hopefully this time it is being genuine and will deliver a solid PC version of all of its upcoming titles this year. Delivering a solid game is really the only way top win consumer trust back at this point.
Actions speak louder than words.
They didn’t fuck up Rogue because it was based off an existing engine whereas Unity was run off a new engine and contained a lot of errors. I think they’ve learned their lessons through Unity and will be able to do this one right
Something is wrong with your way of conducting business if you need to advertise your next product with a promise that you’ll do things properly this time.
Sure, sure. But we have to make sure we give them a fair chance. If it’s bad then no apologists, but if it’s good we have to be prepared to say so. Advanced Warfare is a great example – CoD has been ripped on by the PC community for years, but when that came out and was actually decent then the PC community were prepared to say so and praise it.
Call of Duty seems to be a pretty bad curse on recent titles. People see it as a game that comes out every year but the reality is 3 different companies are working for 3 years on each title. Sure the more recent games have gone into futuristic settings and you can see inspiration from Titanfall but in their own right they’re pretty good games; Treyarch know how to make a good story, Sledgehammer games really have the graphics on point and Infinity Ward can make a great multiplayer experience.
in the past few games if you took out the 3 word prefix people would probably give it more of a chance, (and there would probably be less 10 year olds on it too :P)

FYI COD AW was uber crap on pc. The lack of Dedicated users deployed or rented servers was a massive failure, the lack of ever single game mode in hardcore was also a major blow.. The Suit thing in MP turn it into a bunny hopping noob tubing lame fest. There was absolutely nothing good about last years COD AW game , Ghost wasn’t any better , nether was MW3 or BO2 *they lied about dedicated servers. BO2 is completely Peer2Peer..
last respectable COD game was BO1, and it was mostly due to the fact of Dedicated server were real gamers.. people like you and me could run them, admin them, and setup any type of game mode / settings. Power to the players is a major selling point
Big publishers are lying sacks of shit. We should not “prepare” ourselves for their PR promises that are most likely to turn out false. Don’t let make a fool of yourself.
the PC version shld be first. then they downgrade it and make it work on the PS4 and Xbone
rouge > Unity
I apologize in advance for the vitriol that I assure you is not directed at you. Bollocks. They have repeatedly made a set of business decisions that have made the last few iterations of that product truly horrible for the PC, and now they’d like us to spend more money on their crap to show us they’ve gotten it right this time? They won’t get another dime out of me on this franchise. And after Watch Dogs, anything coming from them will be treated with more scrutiny.
Strange world we live in where companies make a big deal out of not making a unplayable game. You’d think that be the baseline.
Quit the words, and get on to work
Indeed.
I agree, but all I’m saying is that we should still wait for the reviews. It might be great, no matter how unlikely that is.
Wow, way to come across as a dick. Are you saying that it’s absolutely impossible that this game will be good? As in, 0% chance? No, you aren’t, because that would be a fundamentally stupid thing to say. All I’m saying is that we should wait for the reviews. And if it’s good, we should say it’s good, rather than ripping on Ubisoft.
The single player was pretty great.
maybe but doesn’t justify the 70$ price tag when the entire game basically relies on and is geared towards the MP side
Absolutely depends on what you’re looking for from a game.
And I wouldn’t pay $50 for any game, never-mind $70. I’m a PC gamer, so we just don’t pay that sort of money for games.
You have no clue at all have you? COD was a great PC franchise until these fuckers decided potatoes was the platform of choice, google “not balanced for lean” to educate yourself; now that the PC again is the premier platform they are doing a 180 to grab that sweet cash after giving us shit ports and holding back PC centric development for ages.
These guys deserve to bleed and anyone with the slightest sense of history will make sure they do.
Haha, come on now Ubisoft. You guys have to understand that something is clearly wrong when you have to come out with this statement. xD
I loved Rogue more than Unity, it even ran better, didn’t had all the graphic glory that Unity had, but looked just as good as Black Flag.
Yeah uhh… all your reasons for hating “AW” is gameplay-related and not “PC problem”-related.
Also, BO2 was all dedis on PC except party games/custom games. Nobody in any regular ranked match “hosted” games. Please get your facts straight.
Not liking a game is not a reason to say it sucked on the PC. Believe me, there’s MANY other reasons that AW sucked on PC. But you disliking the gameplay and playlist options is not included in that list.
I had this page up for days. Just waited for the comments to flesh out so I could laugh at it in a fresh comment XD.
I’ll believe it when I see it, Ubisoft, aka “If PC gamers want to run it better they’ll just toss a stronger graphics card at it”-soft.
BO2 was infact NOT ran on dedicated server… The game did not have server browser and all *master* server were controled, and ran by tryarch them self… That dose not = Dedicated server, BTW in the pc version on ranked match people did see the “migrating hosting” features many of times including my self welcome to the pc MP ranked Matches http://leadergamer.com.tr/img/haber-foto/vlcsnap-113621.png
ACUTALLY not like the game play is a huge reason why it sucked on the pc. and the lack of game play/features is another huge reason why it sucked . I didn’t want to get to the technical issues this game alone has ether
No, it was on dedi servers. Dedi servers mean that nobody in-game is hosting. If they control the servers and you don’t have a browser that’s STILL a dedicated server. YOU don’t need to have control of servers for them to be “dedicated servers”. Your problem is “I wanted a server browser and dedicated servers I could own/set up”, not “BO2 had no dedis”. If you got “host migration” then someone was hacking and forcing host to themselves. Between my own 415 hours and my friend’s 1150 hours AND all my other friends plus all the streamers I know who’ve played it on PC, we’ve never seen a host migration. Hell, we’ve even tested it, by shoving everybody into a free for all lobby, filling it up with 8 of us, then everyone leaving and rejoining until everyone left and rejoined and there STILL wasn’t a host migration.
And no, gameplay being bad doesn’t mean it’s a bad game on PC. It means you didn’t LIKE the game. NOTHING ELSE. PERIOD. Features missing from a game that should be there is one thing. You disliking the way a game plays is another.
Stop being so entitled about games needing to play just how you like it for them to be a “good PC port”.
Lol The best Call Of Duty port for me was Call Of Duty black ops. The first one in the black ops series. Played smooth, Black ops 2 was a little tricky but after a few patches things got fixed. Black ops 3 sucked balls on launch, FPS was all over the place. Now a patch was released and seemed to fix the problems i had with launch, The FPS still goes a little whacky and locks up for a second every few minutes but oh well
doesn’t matter because this one is boring and uninteresting as fuck…compared to black flag which was epic
