Just how easy is it to game at high frame rates and fully power a 4K 144Hz display? MSI reached out to us with that exact question and sent over some hardware they thought could help us achieve that feat. Today we're taking the MSI Infinity prebuilt desktop from Cyberpower PC through a variety of 4K games, using the MSI MAG 274UPF as our display. Join me as I delve in to the 4K gaming experience and detail my route to achieving the buttery smooth levels of FPS that PC gamers crave.

The MSI MAG 274UPF is a high refresh rate, 4K, rapid-IPS 27″ monitor designed with fast and fluid gaming in mind. Traditionally, high frame rate gaming meant sacrificing some visual quality and playing at resolutions such as 1080p – MSI are looking to change things up though and are marketing the MAG 274UPF as an ‘e-sports' product. It's packed with features such as Optix Scope and a built in crosshair, that go alongside the bright, crisp and vibrant Rapid-IPS panel to deliver fluid, colourful and smooth gaming to gamers, without having to sacrifice any graphical detail by lowering the resolution.
The MSI Infinity desktop from Cyberpower PC features an MSI Nvidia RTX 4080 Suprim X GPU – Which as can be seen in the full video review, was surprisingly adequate for providing enough graphical horsepower to fully utilise the technology on offer from the MAG 274UPF monitor and reach fully drive the monitor's 144Hz refresh rate. We took the system and display through a variety of games and tweaked settings to provide the fastest experience possible without sacrificing too much quality and graphical fidelity.

KitGuru says: The days of high FPS 4K gaming being out of reach for the majority of gamers are beginning to come to an end. 4K gaming at high FPS is achievable without the very top end GPU and CPU. The added detail brought to the table by using a 4K display in games like Escape From Tarkov, Call of Duty and Apex Legends alongside the fluidity of a high refresh rate make for an amazing gaming experience overall.
