Here is Rocksteady’s ‘advice’ for those having issues with Arkham Knight on PC

Batman: Arkham Knight launched yesterday and has already kicked up a storm in the PC gaming community. While the game runs fine on consoles, it is very clear that the PC version did not get the same treatment. In-fact, we learned that Rocksteady actually outsourced PC development duties to a small studio with just 12 people working on the port.

Now there is no patch yet, after all, Rocksteady didn't even have much of a hand in the PC development of this title so it is fair to speculate that it may be heavily relying on the small 12 man team at Iron Galaxy Studios to work some serious overtime. However, Rocksteady does have some advice for PC users having issues, though I warn you it isn't particularly good advice.

Rocksteady's advice to users who meet the minimum system requirements (which include a Core i5 and a GTX 660/Radeon 7950) is to leave the 30 frames per second cap on, turn the resolution down to 720p and turn the few graphical options you actually have in the game off entirely or to their lowest option.

This rather unhelpful advice remains the same for those on the recommended hardware specification. Those running a GTX 760 or higher may have the pleasure of turning the resolution up to 1080p, although Rocksteady recommends that nobody goes higher than this. The 30 frames per second cap rule still applies here, although you can turn your shadow, texture and detail level settings to ‘normal'.

As you would imagine, Rocksteady recommends that nobody use the Nvidia specific effects- which take up half of the graphics options menu on their own. So there you have it, Rocksteady doesn't really have a solution for you, just awful advice in a desperate attempt to make the best out of a bad situation.

KitGuru Says: This ‘advice' from Rocksteady really does not instil me with a ton of confidence that the game will ever be fixed properly. In-fact I almost get the feeling like they are going to try and get it running at 30 frames per second for most people and then call it a day, though I am just speculating here. Overall, Arkham Knight has been a massive disappointment on the PC and its a huge shame to see Rocksteady fall so low on the final game of the series.

KitGuru Games: Omni-movement culminates 30 years of FPS innovation

Black Ops 6 is officially here, bringing the innovative new Omni-movement system to the game. While on the surface a relatively simple change, I argue that Treyarch intimately studied DOOM and the past 30 years of first-person shooter evolution to craft one of the most satisfying gameplay systems yet.

  1. Steam should release a report of how many peoples applied for a refund on this game xD

  2. RIP

  3. i really want to play it, but i knew i did a good job by not preordering it xD now we just wait till the price drop on the PC version and get it cheap… XD

  4. This might get slashed to 20eur in a couple of months just like what happened to Arkham Origins xD

  5. I upgraded my PC to play this game instead of getting with the PS4. Pre-ordered it and bought the season pass, then had to wait in line with 1000s of people just to get raped by 12 men!

  6. New stats page! genius idea, games refunded: no.1 batman arkham knight no.2 batman season pass

  7. Oh yeah gamenotworks!

  8. Devs are not really allowed (nor they’d want to) to share this, but they do have the exact numbers provided by Steam

  9. “leave the 30 frames per second cap on, turn the resolution down to 720p
and turn the few graphical options you actually have in the game off
entirely or to their lowest option.”

Is this some kind of joke or they really mean it? Game that MINIMUM requires GPU which is twice as fast as the one in PS4 and they want the players to shut all graphics options and play at 720p, I would be throwing rocks at them right now If I had bought the game.

  10. ROFL
    BEST. ADVICE. EVER.

Wow, such good advice. Unfotunately to those that passed on getting this right now it translates to “Don’t buy”. So I’ll wait to buy it during a Steam sale next year.

  12. still to much for this POS

  13. This is all on Rocksteady, not the Gameworks API.

Rocksteady outsourced the PC port to a console studio who had little to no prior experience with PC ports, they messed it up badly and as such everything runs like shit.

The Gameworks API can be used very well in games such as the Witcher 3 with Hairworks, however the outsourced studio crippled the game even more by trying to poorly code it into the game.

Don’t blame Nvidia or Gameworks for this fuck up when in actual fact it was Rocksteady who fucked up by not handing over the port to a company experience with PC ports

  14. I refuse to believe that Rocksteady had no idea how bad this was going to be. You don’t outsource a project and not check on it periodically. But nothing will be done, Rocksteady would have to start from scratch or something along those lines, and it’s probably not worth it.

  15. It’s quite apt that this game has been released in such a poor state so soon after the refund policy came into effect. The publisher will get what they deserve out of it.

  16. Alexandru Marius

If you payed almost 100$ after what problems they had with the last one and the way they talked to the fans, then it’s your fault.

  17. Ok Mark, but you should observe that almost all game works games have problems, big ones. I’m not the only one who payed attention to this. Its too much of a coincidence.
Even the witcher hairworks is not that good really. many people acctualy prefer not using it because the withcer and his horse acctualy look better without it turned on.

  18. Translation: Don’t buy this piece of sh*t

  19. that’s why it is called rocksteady company hahaha

  20. they are basically saying play the game like a 2010 game… nope not gonna do that thank you very much Rock-not-so-steady…

  21. Rocksteady should pull the entire game off of steam etc, and Rebuild the Entire PC version them self’s, and releases it.. That’s what needs to happen, and the only way that save this train wreck

  22. Júlio Sencadas

    Someone file a lawsuit already!

  23. Console gamers are the true MASTER RACE!

  24. though your rape was an unfortunate event, i still hope you learned your lesson about pre-ordering

think about it while applying the ointments

  25. Erm, not very eager to purchase anything from them after those couple of fiascoes with stolen keys. I’d rather get it from GMG or 365games which are known to be official distributors.

  26. Hahahaha!! A new highscore for game publishers to look at xD better release a complete product or come in the hall of fail <3

  27. This is why we build a PC guys. To play at 30fps. Just….wtf. Not like this is even AK’s only fricken problem. What a joke. We’ve all been trolled, hard.
