Future Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC won’t come to Xbox 360 or PS3

The last generation consoles are on their way out, although the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 still managed to receive a few of last year's biggest releases, one of which was Dragon Age: Inquisition. Unfortunately, last gen console gamers are going to have to move on soon if they want to play any future expansions or DLC for Bioware's latest RPG.

Bioware has announced that it is dropping support for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Dragon Age: Inquisition, meaning any future DLC won't arrive on those consoles. However, players will be able to carry their save files to the Xbox One or PS4 as long as they stay within the same console family. This means Xbox 360 owners switching to a PS4 won't be able to transfer their save, they would need to buy an Xbox One.

The save transfer tool will arrive in the next patch for the game, although you won't be able to transfer a save file from PC to console, at least not initially. Bioware has noted in the past that developing for last generation consoles presented a few unwanted limitations that caused ideas to be cut, maybe now that last generation consoles are being cut we will see some of those ideas come to life in future story expansions.

Dragon Age: Inquisition received its first story DLC earlier this year in the form of ‘Jaws of Hakkon'. Right now future expansions have not yet been announced but given this announcement, it sounds like Bioware is working on something for this year. You can find the full announcement and details on the save transfer tool, HERE.

KitGuru Says: It isn't surprising that the last generation consoles are being swiftly dropped by developers, after all, the decade old hardware is very limiting and won't run new games very well at all.
