Even though Advanced Micro Devices openly demonstrates its next generation graphics processing unit, it has never confirmed specifications of the product. Nonetheless, multiple leaks have already revealed the vast majority of technical details about the upcoming AMD Radeon Fury graphics card and recently specs of the device were confirmed once again.
According to database of CompuBench benchmark, a test suit used to compare parallel compute performance of CPUs, GPUs and accelerators, AMD’s code-named “Fiji” graphics processor has 64 compute units, reports VideoCardz. Since every GCN compute unit has 64 stream processors, the total amount of SPs in the new GPU is 4096, as reported a number of times before. The chip is expected to feature 256 texture mapping units.
AMD’s Radeon Fury will be the first graphics card to use SK Hynix’s stacked high bandwidth memory (HBM). The new type of DRAM is expected to provide unprecedented memory bandwidth of 640GB/s thanks to 4096-bit memory bus and 1.25GT/s transfer rate. The graphics boards will be equipped with 4GB of HBM memory.
AMD’s upcoming flagship graphics card will use hybrid liquid cooling solution and will be physically shorter than today’s high-end graphics adapters.
Pricing of AMD’s Radeon Fury X remains unknown. It is expected to be formally introduced on the 16th of June, 2016.

The graphics card is expected to demonstrate excellent results in high resolutions, but it is completely unclear how it will compare against Nvidia Corp.’s GeForce GTX Titan X. According to CompuBench, the new graphics processor from AMD is considerably faster than the Titan X. However, actual performance in games depends not only on pure compute performance.

probably will be more like 800 competing with Gtx 980 Ti, and then the usual amd price lowering so let’s just wait a bit and they will lower the price a bit
I’m a big Nvidia fan, but I honestly hope the fury comes out on top of the Titan X – I really hope it’d give a boost to innovation and progress in the GPU industry, before the lack of competition gives us something similar to the CPU market, with intel pushing a steady 5% performance increase every refresh.
ATM holding my £1500 to spend on my new pc. Wanting the 980ti, but holding the money to see what the Fury can do, and how will this card can affect some pricing on the 980ti. If the Fury convinces me, then I’ll go with that, but it better be a dam good card, because the 980ti it is. I like that is coming watercooled, so that’s a + for me. 🙂
i hope it slaughters the titan x so i can pick up a 980 ti (or equivalent AMD card) for under $500 because honestly $1,000 for the titan x is absurd.

Judging by the way the price of the 980Ti fell off a cliff (40%) compared to the Titan x it’s seems pretty obvious to me that Nvidia knows it’s going to get beaten.
AMD traditionally don’t rip people off blind like Nvidia did with Titan but I would expect them to charge somewhere in the vicinity of $750usd for the top sku provided it gives a good account of itself over the Ti. HBM and watercooling don’t come cheap.
I can’t see the 980Ti price dropping for a while, they will just concede the high-end to AMD.
Probably best to wait a few weeks after launch to let the usual madness die off and let prices settle. Early adopters always get burnt.
I’m very wary of Nvidia now, after the 780Ti has been crippled by drivers to make the 9 series look better. Will they do the same when Pascal arrives?

Well, still if nvidia does’t drop price on the 980ti, at least amd can be cheaper, and maybe I will lean to buy the amd. Just want to see how the amd cards hold up, and hopefully they don’t have drivers problems or other stuff. Most of the top cards including fury will be released on the 16 June right?
Not if it destroys the Nvidia lineup. People tend to forget that AMD used to charge 1k+ for a CPU when they were on top. If this cards blows Nvidia out of the water, be sure it will be high priced. Also be sure the price won’t be coming down anytime soon. And if reports of HBM being in low yields is true, then there will also probably be a shortage of cards, meaning supply will be low and demand will be high. Which also translates into higher pricing.
Just because it’s AMD, doesn’t always mean it will be cheaper.

I can’t see them dropping the price of the ti. It looks to me like that has already been built in.
Fury is slated for release on the 16th yep. A couple more days and all the speculation disappears…until the next round of cards. 🙂
And Fury is faster in 4k with 8GB less ram and a smaller die.
If anything it reinforces my $750 pricepoint.
Far from disappointed. If anyone thought it was going to be a walkover then I have a bridge to sell.
