Last week we learned that Samsung may be looking to beat Apple to the punch by launching its upcoming Galaxy Note 5 phablet ahead of schedule in August, rather than September. Now new reports have tipped us off with the launch date for Samsung's new phone, alongside the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
According to reports from Korean Media outlets, Samsung is set to hold an event for the Galaxy Note 5 on the 13th of August. The event is set to take place in New York and will bring us both the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
According to Business Korea, Samsung's re-scheduled Galaxy Note 5 launch is all in an attempt to beat Apple to the market, as the Cupertino based company has found great success over the last year with its 5.5 inch iPhone 6 Plus.
As far as specs go, the Galaxy Note 5 is set to feature a 5.7 inch 1440p display and an eight core Exynos processor alongside 4GB of RAM, the S Pen and a 16 megapixel rear facing camera. The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus on the other hand will pretty much be exactly the same spec-wise.

KitGuru Says: It looks like the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is just a few weeks away, though we still don't know exactly when it will be available to buy. Are any of you using a Galaxy Note device currently? Are you looking to upgrade this year?
-removable battery
-sd card slot
-body that is same size or smaller than Note 4’s
-stereo front facing speakers
All they need is these 4 things and the Note 5 will blow all competition out of the water.
