Without any doubts, Apple’s Watch is a rather popular device. Unfortunately, Apple itself is not going to disclose its sales numbers any time soon, which is why it is unclear how successful the device is. A financial analyst estimates that Apple has so far shipped around four million units.
KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a good track record in predicting Apple’s upcoming products, believes that consumer response to Apple Watch is “tepid”, reports AppleInsider. He claims that sales of the smartwatch totaled 3.9 million in the first quarter of availability, which is means that demand for the device was pretty strong.
The market observer believes that shipments of Apple Watch will increase to 5.5 million units in the ongoing quarter, or by around 41.1 per cent. Mr. Kuo believes that this year Apple will sell around 15 million Watch units.
Apple Watch is the company’s first new category of products introduced after Tim Cook became chief executive officer. Success of the product is important to Mr. Cook personally. Even though actual sales of Apple Watch are considerably lower than shipments of Apple iPhone or Apple iPad, they are still fairly high, considering the fact that wearable electronics is still not very popular category of products.
Apple did not comment on the news-story.

KitGuru Says: It looks like demand for Apple Watch is not really phenomenal. In fact, this is hardly surprising since first-generation gadgets from Apple are not usually very successful. Nonetheless, it is obvious that Apple Watch is not an unsuccessful product.
