At E3 this year, we finally got a proper glimpse at the new Doom game and now we know when we will actually get a chance to play it. At QuakeCon yesterday, it was announced that the Doom multiplayer alpha will be with us in just a few months time, while the beta, which was advertised on copies of last year's hit, Wolfenstein: The New Order, will arrive next year.
In order to get access to the alpha, you need to get in to id Software's beta pool. To get in to the beta pool, you needed to pre-order Wolfenstein: The New Order and redeem the code that came with it. Not everyone who pre-ordered is guaranteed alpha access, though they will get in to the beta next year.

The alpha for Doom will take place across the PC, Xbox One and PS4. The full game is set to launch in Spring next year, although no exact date has been announced just yet. Doom also comes with a new creative mode, which will allow players to build their own levels and upload them for others to try out.

KitGuru Says: We saw some wonderfully gory footage of Doom at E3 this year. Are any of you looking forward to it? Did any of you get a code for beta access with Wolfenstein?
