Assassin’s Creed Syndicate PC will launch one month after consoles

Ubisoft really shot itself in the foot with PC gamers last year with Assassin's Creed: Unity and while most will likely remain untrustworthy this year, the publisher is attempting to make a bit more of an effort this time around. While the London-based Assassin's Creed Syndicate will launch on consoles on the 23rd of October, the PC version will be worked on for a bit longer and won't release until the 19th of November.

In an update on the Ubisoft blog, the company wrote: “We have introduced several new improvements to our production pipeline and validation process, which allowed us to focus on polishing, stabilising and optimising the PC version very early on in the project. This has been one of the top priorities for the production team this year.”

According to the post, these extra few weeks will help Ubisoft to put the finishing touches on PC optimizations. Since last year, Unity's recommended system requirements included a GTX 780/ R9 290X and an Intel Core i5 2500K/ FX-8350, hopefully this year we will see something much lower … particularly since Ubisoft's recommended system spec for AC: Syndicate is only targeting 1080p at 30 frames per second:

“There will be no locks on the game as far as framerate and resolution goes”, but “the recommended system requirements will target 1080p and 30fps”. Ubisoft's love for that particular frame rate has become something of a joke over the last year and it looks like the company isn't ready to give it up just yet.

KitGuru Says: Since Ubisoft is only targeting 1080p at 30 frames per second, hopefully the recommended system requirements for Assassin's Creed this year will be much lower. Still though, nothing Ubisoft has said so far has instilled me with any confidence that they are going to take the PC platform seriously.

  1. Ouch hopefully having two 290X will allow close to 60 FPS.

  3. easily man 1 of those is way more power than a XB1 and a PS4 combined with 2 heck you could probably run 2560×1440@40-60FPS on high settings maybe even ultra.

when mine went bang after 2yrs swapped them out for a 980Ti purely because I could get it for less than a Fury X which was really interesting me.Also goes to show the current consoles can’t really do 1080P@30-60FPS if this is the recommended specs fpr [email protected] also why Ubisoft refuses to give up on that baseline because thats all the consoles can manage on a really good day lol

  4. Agreed. I was heavily looking at the 970, 980, 980 Ti and 390, 390X, Fury, Fury X when my single 290 crapped out. But when I was able to obtain dual 290X for $330 total, I could not pass that oppurtunity. They should provide all the performance I need unless my OCed 8350 remains a big bottleneck in future games even with low level API.

I’m not happy with the PC version coming out a month later, but if they optimize the game well so there is no huge bottleneck for both CPU or GPU I’ll gladly throw them some money

  5. your 8350 should be more than enough I mean granted Intel CPU’s( like my i5 4670K OC’d to 4.5Ghz on all four cores) have stronger per core performance but if DX12 allows the GPU’s to communicate with all CPU cores rather than just 1 you should find your pc will fly.

  6. That’s what I’m hoping for. Ashes of the Singularity has gotten my hopes down a little though. An 8370 performing similar yet worse than a i3. Though at 4.8-5GHz my 8350 would be getting better numbers than a stock 8370.
