Divinity Original Sin 2 Kickstarter goals announced

Divinity Original Sin 2 is crushing it on Kickstarter right now. Not only did the game manage to hit its $500,000 funding goal within the first 24 hours, but now the campaign has managed to hit the first two stretch goals, which were just announced.

Larian Studios announced its Divinity Original Sin 2 stretch goals yesterday, covering funding points from $700,000 all of the way up to $1.5 million. Right now, the campaign funding is sitting at around $927,000 raised, so the campaign is just shy of hitting its third stretch goal.

At $700,000, a new strategy mode will be added in to the game. At $850,000 we get a new skill tree then when the campaign hits $1,000,000 we will be getting different skills depending on character race.

Should the campaign hit $1.2 million, then Divinity Original Sin 2 will be getting new origin stories to choose from, which are going to play a big role in the new game. At $1.35 million a second skill tree will be added in for more variety in character builds.

The final stretch goal comes in at the $1.5 million mark and will add what is called ‘the hall of echoes' in to the game. This is basically a portal through to the spirit world.

What is nice about these stretch goals, is that Larian has given each one an in-depth explanation on a new Kickstarter update, so we actually know how these new funding goals will affect the game. There are plenty of campaigns out there that fail to do this properly, with the most recent example being Shenmue 3.

KitGuru Says: I am really looking forward to Divinity Original Sin 2, though I do tend to stay away from crowd funding campaigns. That said, Larian Studios seems to be going about their's the right way and it is paying off nicely. We may even see all of the stretch goals hit before the campaign ends.
