Microsoft slashes Xbox Series X/S console prices by 25%

The Xbox Series X is three years old now, which means we're finally starting to see meaningful holiday season sales for the system. For Black Friday this year, Microsoft has slashed the price of the Xbox Series X on Amazon, bringing it down from £480 to £359.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to get Prime delivery, as Amazon has swiftly sold out of its available stock, but more are on the way. You can still add the console to your basket at its deal price of £359, but it may not arrive for a couple of weeks. Considering how close we are to Christmas, we'd expect the backlog of orders to continue growing so if this is something you want to get your hands on, you may want to act fast.

While the Xbox console doesn't really have much in the way of true game exclusives, as all first-party games now launch on PC too, the Series X does offer a great amount of power and performance for its price. You would struggle to build a gaming PC capable of 4K gaming with a similar budget.

Alternatively, the Xbox Series S can also be found at a discount at the moment, bringing the price down to £189 for the 512GB model and unlike the Series X, there is stock available with Prime Delivery.

While on the surface a relatively simple change, I argue that Treyarch intimately studied DOOM and the past 30 years of first-person shooter evolution to craft one of the most satisfying gameplay systems yet.
